Frequently asked questions

What happens if I miss the October 15 extension filing deadline?

Yes—if you requested an extension, October 15 is your filing deadline. An extension gives you more time to file, not to pay; taxes were still due in April, and unpaid balances can accrue penalties and interest. If you miss October 15, the failure-to-file penalty may apply unless you qualify for specific disaster relief.

How fast can you file once I start?

Once your documents are complete, most returns are prepared within a few business days; we e-file as soon as you approve. The IRS says most e-filed refunds process in about 21 days—track yours with Where’s My Refund.

What do you need from me today to get this done?

Upload last year’s return and this year’s tax forms (W-2s, 1099s, 1095-A if marketplace health, etc.). We’ll generate a tailored checklist and guide you through a quick intake so we can prepare and e-file fast.

Which package should I pick (Simple, Complex, Small Business)?

Choose Simple for W-2-only (≤3) and standard deduction; Complex if you itemize, have investments/credits, or multiple states; Small Business for 1099/creator income, rentals, or K-1s. If unsure, start the intake—we’ll route you.
